Potty Girl

I dare say the potty training is officially official.
We've been training Brinkley for about a month and a half now and I think it is done!
She's awesome.
She hasn't had an accident since that one time in nursery like 4 weeks ago.
Yep. That seems pretty official to me.
Just this morning, I heard her get out of bed, walk down the hall, rustle around, go pee pee, wipe, flush and then run down the hall to my room yelling "I did it! I did it!"
(she still gets very excited every time she goes to the bathroom)

That was not her first time going all by herself or anything, but it was her first time to do it first thing in the morning when she gets out of bed. The best part? I was still all snuggly warm in my bed and not having to wipe her.
I love this. I get to stay in bed while my daughter goes potty all by herself? Success!
Now if she could just pour herself some cereal, my life would be golden.

I will say though, that first week or two of potty training was BORING!
We stayed in the house for like 120 hours straight.
I didn't dare go anywhere. Just in case.
Turns out, she's really good at holding it when we run errands.
She must've been ready.
It was hard for her at first to give up diapers. I'm 100% sure it was because of the convenience. She would go on her little potty, but she kept asking for diapers afterward.
I told her they were all gone.
So she asked for Darcy's diapers.
I told her they were too small.
She would get this bummed look on her face and then sit on her potty again.

To start, I potty trained her naked. Too much info? Don't care. It's my blog.
Anyway, she quickly took to dressing herself each day. It's a love hate relationship I have with this new found independence.
She would go upstairs and come back down in like 3 dresses and two skirts. All together.
An hour later - she will have changed into 2 new dresses and her socks would be gone.
I did more laundry that week than ever in my life.
I have since tried to transition her back into pants, but she doesn't like them. It's quite a battle to get her to wear pants, especially jeans. I usually have to race her down the hall after she bathes to pick out her clothes first. And sometimes I still lose because she tells me "no mom. I want the brown dress."
She loves dresses. Oh well. I like them too, really. But I also like variety, and she only has so many dresses. All of which I am sick of now.

Some pictures of our week of being completely shut-in:
(and experimenting with the white balance settings on my camera, hence all the different colored pictures)

busted! you little nose-picker.

Busted again!

You are the queen of potty training! Man I hope Paisley is that easy. I can't believe how Brinkley even goes by herself already. Love the pictures of the girls with the glasses, cute!
