Yesterday (the 5th) marked our baby's 4 month birthday mark. WOW! I can't believe it. It feels like it has gone so fast, yet I can't remember life without her either. We've reached a new landmark. A joyous time called 'Teething.'I'm no parenting expert, but I knew something was up. Drool, fussiness, chewing on everything... She doesn't have any teeth showing yet, but I looked up on the trusty internet some signs of babies who are teething. These 5 symptoms fit Brinkley to the tee:1. Drooling: Ummm, yeah. Talk about drool, all the time, everywhere. I'm immune to it now. I have drool running down my shirt and arm and it doesn't even phase me. Her shirt right below her chin is always soaking wet. My little 6 year old neighbor likes to hold Brinks, but whenever she does she says "Brinkley is drooling on me again. Will you wipe it off?"
2. Gnawing: To gnaw is the perfect word. Anything she can grab she puts to her mouth and gnaws on it, which highly contributes to the excess volume of baby drool.
3. Crying: If you know my baby, she doesn't cry very often (only if she's hungry - that' s my girl!). So, I change this one to 'fussy.' Out of nowhere, she became more fussy than normal. That was totally unexplainable to me until I figured out she's probably teething. Whew! I was worried my perfect baby was now fussy. Not so! I keep telling myself that this is just a stage of her life.
4. Fasting: Whattoexpect.com says: "your baby may refuse to nurse or eat, or may nurse briefly and then turn away." This is not normal for Brinkley. She usually loves to eat! But, sure enough, her feedings have become shorter. She would rather look up at my beautiful shining face than eat sometimes.
5. Waking: This has been the toughest adjustment. I feel as if we've taken a step backwards. She was either only waking up once during the night or sleeping through the night... until now! I feel like she's three weeks again; waking up twice a night and then getting up REALLY early! (I am not a morning person, she is :(
Despite all this, she still has her huge happy smiles. Isn't it exciting? Our little baby may have tiny white teeth soon!

AND just for our fans looking enjoyment, here are some cute pictures of Brinkers and us:
