A couple weeks ago I was feeling adventurous.
I had heard on the radio something about this 'Antique Week' in Madison-Boukville.
I woke up the next day and thought to myself "I'm going to go to that today."
So I loaded the girls up and headed east.
It was about an hour drive. We listened to the same 7 primary songs over and over on the drive (I just got called as the Primary Chorister).
On the way there, just outside of Fayetteville, I passed a random sale on the side of the road. I thought, "why not? I'm already being crazy" and so we stopped there. I got a gigantic wooden tray used on some ship to deliver tea (true? no idea). I also got a letterpress drawer that I'm still deciding what I'm going to do with it. But it's awesome.
We passed through this lovely town called Cazenovia.
I'll definitely have to go back there and spend a little time.
Anyway, we finally arrived at.... 'Antique Week!'
About a mile long stretch of hundreds of tents packed full of antiques.
It was a dream.
Granted, it was stifling hot and super crowded, and antique week is no place for a double wide jogging stroller... but I found a few treasures that I'm stoked about. And everyone was handing out deals without me even having to haggle.
Me: "How much for this globe?"
Them: "Seven dollars."
Me: "Great."
Them: "Okay, okay. Tell you what. You buy this one and that one over there, and I'll sell you both for $10."
Me: "Umm. Okay!"
I found a vintage wooden pepsi case (currently holding the craft supplies that I tote up and downstairs from the basement)
I found a large ornate frame. Sweet.
I found two globes (as mentioned above). I am in love with globes.
I found a bunch of cheap vintage yardsticks.
I could have bought so much more, if I had more money. :)
It was such a great time. And I probably saw 1/16 of it.
If that.
It was HUGE. I was there two hours. Darcy fell asleep. Bless her heart. And Brinks was a champ. No whining whatsoever until the very end when she was tired, thirsty, hot and hungry.
But so was I. So, home we went.
(Well, we did make one pit stop to get some chocolate milk at a gas station. :) )
I will most definitely be going back next year. Loved it so much.
And I think next year I will do the whole shebang and go into the town bit and eat lunch there too.
It all smelled fantastic.
(I forgot to take pictures until the very end, when I was away from the tents... so these don't do it justice. So, I also attached a photo from their website to show just how many tents there were)

CR-AZY, right? HUGE I tell you!
