A Few Mishaps

So, Darcy is trying to stop taking naps.
:(
As a result, she had had some mishaps:

Incident #1
She learned how to get out of her crib and so she spends her time making messes with the books. Usually ripping them.
Argh!
One day I heard her up there rustling about, messing with the door. But then she stopped and I didn't think much of it.
A while later she started crying, signifying she was done with naptime. So, I went to go get her only to find she had locked the door! I was locked out!
In desperation I called my dad because I knew he could answer his phone at work (my husband can't) and my dad is a pro at calming emotional girls down.
So, in a panic I called him to ask how to pick a lock. He walked me through it - with no success. I don't know if it was my nerves or what, but I could not get that paperclip to work in the little hole.
Finally I resorted to taking the entire doorknob off and wriggling the lock that way.
Darcy was hysterical by the time I got it unlocked. She was read and hot and sweaty. Poor gal.
When Josh put the doorknob back on later, we put the lock on the outside so that can't happen again. Now I only have to worry about Darcy locking me into the room. Let's hope that never happens. Ever.

Incident #2
Again, I hear her rustling about. But feeling lazy and frustrated, I left her to her business. My mistake.
She then opened the door and sheepishly came down the stairs saying 'mommy, oh no!'
As if it was out of her control.
I came around to the stairs to find this.
A ghost.
That smelled like medicated butt ointment.
I was speechless.
I had to wash her vigorously about 7 times before most of this came off. It was on there pretty thick.
She smelled like diaper rash cream for a couple of days.
Oh, Darce.
(That's our catch-phrase for all of Darcy's shenanigans)
