Well, aren't we adventurous lately?
On Monday, July 5th, Josh didn't have anything school or work-wise. So, we decided to have a little family outing!
We drove 2 1/2 hours to Mount Davis. The highest 'mountain' in Pennsylvania...
At a whopping 3,213 feet.
(Just to give you an idea of how high that NOT is, the Great Salt Lake's elevation is 4,196 feet)
I'm not going to lie. It was a long drive. Especially for a pregnant lady on a really hot day.
We probably won't do it again. However, we did have a good time.
We climbed this freaky tall tower to get a view of the surrounding area. It looked a lot like the rest of Pennsylvania. Very tree-ish. I like to think of it as big rolling bunches of broccoli.
And speaking of the freaky tall tower... I was scared out of my mind. I was shaking the whole climb up, the whole time on top, and the whole climb down.
My daughter, on the other hand, was not scared at all. She ran around the top of that tower like it was 3 inches from the ground. In fact, she went up twice. The first time we went up as a family and Josh carried her up the stairs. The second time, she insisted on climbing up all by herself. And she did! Josh was right behind her the whole time of course! Thank goodness he's not afraid of heights! I stayed safely on the ground... where pregnant women belong.
There she be in all her glory. The very tip of Mount Davis!
Hmm. That shirt makes me look ginormous... probably because I am.
The freaky tall tower...
And the view from the top. Kind of a hazy day... couldn't see very far.
My fearless daughter on top of the freaky tall tower.
Taking a break in the shade (and coloring on the rocks with mom's chapstick)
Brinkley climbing the freaky tall tower all by herself.

That makes me giggle that you climb to the highest point in Pennsylvania and they have to build a tower so you can have a good view. When you said tower I thought you meant rocks but no and actual tower. We never went there. I am glad you are getting out. Your pics are fab.
I would have been scared also. I don't do heights! The picture with Brinks and the flower is adorable. I love that you are doing so well with your new camera, makes it all worth it eh!
