Just about 38 weeks along

I'm really at the homestretch now... what is it, 16 days until my due date?
Something like that.

I practiced with the self-timer on my camera to get these shots of my belly.
It was fun! Yes, there are probably a million other things I could have done while Brinkley was napping instead of taking pictures of myself... but I didn't.

I had a check up today. I am dilated to a 2+ (almost a 3) and 75% effaced.
Pretty much that means that I'll either go into labor soon... or I won't.
Yep, that's what the doc said.

I went 3 days late with Brinks and I fully plan on going late with this one - for my own sanity. If I start thinking I might go early, I immediately must stop myself from thinking such thoughts!
They can only lead to disappointment!

Some things things to remember about this pregnancy at 38 weeks:

I still feel pretty darn good! I really feel spoiled as far as pregnancies go.

I walk at least 2 miles a day (most days) and sometimes up to six! Go mama go!

I have gained about 27 pounds so far, and I can tell the difference from my last pregnancy! You probably can too.
(check out the photo at the bottom to see how fat, er... I mean swollen I was at this point when I was pregnant with Brinkley! I gained 35lbs total with her)

I got really bad backaches with my first pregnancy, but they really haven't been that bad this time around. Thank goodness! I only get them if I sit in one position too long. Think church.

She is head down - yippee! What a smart girl!

My blood pressure is perfecto - and so is the little girly's heart beat. We are one healthy pair. The doctor usually spends about 2 minutes with me. And that's what I get for not being a needy patient. :)

I do get a bit swollen by the end of the day. It makes the joints in my fingers and toes hurt in the morning.

I have had off and on bouts of insomnia. Annoying.

I am nesting a little bit, but I can't tell, I may just be feeling rushed to get everything done that I want to before she comes out. I have so many projects around the house that I want done and I feel too tired to do them!!

I love feeling her move around. She is a wiggly little gal. She especially likes to start doing gymnastics in my tummy when I am trying to fall asleep.

We still haven't settled on a name for her.. I think we'll just wait to see what she looks like!

And for all you curious people who hung in there, here is a picture of me at 8 1/2 months (about 38 weeks) in my first pregnancy.
I look especially huge next to my tiny pregnant cousin Natalie. Not fair. She was only a month behind me!

I think it's great you took pics! my kids beg to look at their baby books that Stephen made me pose for. They like seeing how big I would get, especially, when it was the week they were born. You look absolutley terrific in all of them. I'm proud you stayed so stinkin active, it'll help once you have this little sweetie pie! Good luck and have fun!!!!

I LOVE that you did exactly what I would have done during nap time!!!
Oh, good for you on the weight thing. It doesn't matter, but DOES make you feel SO much better to not pack on the extras.
Oh wow! 2 Kids??? That is CRAZY!
you could practically walk to our house!
We're not that far, ya know!!!
Oh, and yes, STOP with the early labor things. Yes, its great that you're dilated, and effaced, but just hang in there!!!!
CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HER!!!!!

Hayley! You look so beautiful! I am so sad I won't be there when she gets here!

p.s. You are AMAZING for walking every day. Pretty sure I sat on the couch and at Cheetoh's.

Man! You carried Brinkley so high and with this no named baby McBride your belly is so low! Mom has a picture of us standing together at one of my showers and your belly was like inches below mine! I wonder what the difference is?
