Playing Outside

Oh how my daughter loves to play outside!
We were fortunate to have a few sunny, warm days while we were in Utah. But as usual, the weather is totally unpredictable there. One day we got sunburns, the next it was cold and rainy.
Brinkley could have spent every waking minute of our trip exploring my parents huge backyard as well as Grandma Beazer's fun yard next door!
And it was so nice for me to not have to worry about her running 10 yards and being too close to the street. One day, I'm going to have a huge yard too. One day.

One thing to note:
She discovered rocks.
Lots of rocks.
And she brought lots of them onto her Grandpa's back porch... and grandma's flower garden... and the grass.
I left all of them where she put them so that her grandma and grandpa could have endearing memories of the time she visited!! Ha ha.

Hope they don't break the lawn mower. Then I'll feel bad.

One day Josh even tried to fly a kite.
It was a little too windy. It promptly got stuck on the roof and when we were able to get it off, it landed in the field across the street. I went after it (barefooted of course) and stepped in a sticker patch. Yikes.
That was the last of our kite flying adventures... that's when the weather decided to take a turn for the worst and it rained for the rest of our trip.

What I laugh about now is how I was looking forward to coming back to Pittsburgh because it was 70-80 degree weather.
The cold must have followed us here. The warm, sunny weather lasted a couple of days and now it is cold again.

She is looking at an airplane! She loves to see them in the sky.

Quietly playing with her rocks.

Giving a rock to daddy to put on his head.
???

Ah, the kite.

Isn't she just too sweet? She tried to climb the tree, but after one scratch, she was done with that adventure.

Putting rocks in a basket.

The big rock! She loved that one!

Enjoying being outside! Oh, how I love this girl!

Mom finally moved all the rocks...(I bet she cried), but not before I stubbed my toe on one. Oh how I love Brinkley.
