Brinkley was so excited to wake up this morning and find her Easter Basket! It took her a while, and a hint or two... but she found it all by herself!
It was hidden in our pile of boxes we have all packed up ready to move to New York.
Thought it was clever. I knew eventually she would find it because the kids love to climb all over that pile of boxes. Like a jungle gym.
Then Darcy woke up. Brinkley was more than eager to help her sister find her basket. She kept saying "come on Darce! Behind the red couch! Come on!"
But Darcy was already distracted by a red pen she spotted on the floor and wanted to color. On her face and shirt. Little stinker.
Eventually we lured her over to her basket.
She didn't hesitate, she started eating her treats right away.
(I was impressed, Brinkley ate her breakfast first and was very cooperative with my 'only three candies' at a time rule.)
The both got their Easter dresses.
Brinks got a tea set and pink shoes.
Darcy got a nesting cup set and a new book.
The tea set kept them happy all day. And well hydrated.
I think I filled the little kettle up with water about 20 times.
Then I cooked ALL morning, ran around getting ready for church and we headed off.
Brinkley reported back that she loved Easter church because she talked about Jesus.
I thought it was an exceptionally great Sunday myself.
Josh spoke in Sacrament meeting and taught Sunday school. He's awesome. He has an amazing talent for teaching.
Relief Society was incredible! I took notes and was all sorts of inspired and everything.
My dinner of ham, funeral potatoes, rolls, green beans, jello, fruit salad, deviled eggs and juice was outrageously huge. I cooked for 14 people. Not 4.
Yes, an 8 pound ham. What was I thinking?
But all is well, we're having the missionaries and the neighbors over for leftovers tomorrow.
And now I'm blogging while listening to the glorious sound of my husband singing with his ukelele.
My life is so good.
Happy Easter indeed.
