Can it be that another Easter has come and gone already?
Fortunately for us, the Easter Bunny was generous and brought us our favorite Cadbury Eggs. Brinkley certainly enjoyed the candy. I think that's all she ate yesterday. Oh, and a bowl of cereal. Just like her momma.
Actually, if I'm going to be honest here, we all overdid it on the candy yesterday! I swore I'd never eat candy again, and yet, I find myself snacking on chocolate and it's not even 9 o'clock.
But that's all the candy I'm eating! For the rest of the day! Ha!
We, of course, loved General Conference, being the Conference Geeks that we are. And Brinkley was good the whole time! She read books, watched movies, and even watched a little conference herself. No tantrums during the sessions - hallelujah! We did however, begin potty training this weekend, but I don't dare go into detail on that just yet... just in case I rip out my hair and give up on it. We'll just say the concept isn't quite sticking yet, but she does like big girl panties.
(I guess that means there's no going back now!)
We also had a little Easter Egg hunt with the neighbors.
I didn't realize that Easter Egg hunts outside of the warm shelter of my Grandma Johnson's house (where everything is perfectly fair and even) were 'Survival of the Fittest.'
There was no set number of eggs each kid could get and as a result, my poor, slow daughter got a measly 6 eggs in her basket. Out of approximately 100+ eggs. Sad.
Two were empty and one of those was completely cracked, as if it had been stepped on first.
She did manage to come upon a bag of skittles after most of the other kids had gone.

She was just more content sitting on the porch steps, eating her humble findings, and watching everyone else run around gathering Easter Eggs.
Perhaps she'll get it next year.
It's probably a good thing anyway. Less risk of getting cavities.
Besides that, she was so darn cute in her Easter Dress and little high heeled sandals
(which actually may have been a contributing factor to her lack of motivation of finding eggs, she was having a tough time getting used to those shoes... my bad)

To end our day, we read some Easter books including the story of the resurrection from our scripture story books. I was surprised at how alert and attentive Brinkley was as her dad read to her about Jesus dying and then rising from the dead.
We hope everyone had a good Easter Sunday too!
How grateful we are for our Savior Jesus Christ, for his atonement, and that He made it possible for us to live again! What a glorious thing, and how blessed we are to know the truth and to teach it to our children.

Glad you guys had such a great Easter! Don't you love how relaxing and wonderful conference is - especially when your child is behaving! Ahh, so nice! Glad you guys are doing so great, and we can't wait to hear if you guys will be having a little boy or girl!!
Sounds perfect, except for Brinkley's lack of eggs : ( poor girl. She did look adorable though. Conference was awesome and a great way to celebrate Easter.
i think andrew got about 9 eggs..haha. we should have stollen some from the other kids..j/k. oh well we don't need all the candy anyway. Brink's did look very cute.
What a fun day! She is adorable in that little dress. I've thought about dressing up Nate in a dress because I wish I could for lack of a girl, but Ben won't let me:).
