Babysitting... Oh, but she's NOT a baby! And she'll tell you so!

Brinkley and I babysat this past week. Noah's babysitter went out of town, so we filled in for the job! We did a lot of fun activities. Many of them over and over and over! (Think Dora the Explorer...) I tried to come up with lots of new ones, but that's hard. You wouldn't believe how fast a three year old will get sick of one activity, and then they are on to the next! Fortunately I had a good supply of sidewalk chalk, paintbrushes, Play Doh and bubbles!

There's Brinkley! She wrote that all by herself... Just kidding. I did it.

There's Noah! This is the second attempt at her name. The first time I asked her how to spell her name she said "N-O-A-W-X-Y-Z now I know my ABC's, next time won't you sing with me?"

Of course my daughter has to give the chalk a taste. She won't even try anything I give her for dinner, but she'll eat chalk... What's with that?


...But it's gross. I guess she's stuck with broccoli.


At our house, we paint with water. I know, sounds like a blast. Surprisingly enough, it was fun! And it involved no clean up.
In fact, the 'painting' cleaned up the chalk! Perfect!

Aaaaannnd. She gives the paintbrush a taste too.
Eh, why not?
Tastes better than the chalk, I'm sure.

I have an idea... Let's mix ALL the colors TOGETHER! Good idea Noah! I like gray Play Doh better anyway.
Noah had me sculpt her out of play doh. And although I didn't get a picture of my creation, it was awesome. You can take my word for it.

If you're wondering: YES, she ate the Play Doh too. She pulled the same face as when she ate the chalk, but she kept tasting it anyway. Oh well, I ate it as a kid too. Who didn't?

I ended up buying a little bubble machine at Target because after the first day of bubbles, I was rather lightheaded. We had a good time though.
And, just to carry on tradition: Brinks TRIED to eat the bubbles. But was unsuccessful in every attempt.
