The Strip

That title sounds a bit racy, doesn't it? Well, it's not. I'm referring to the Strip District in Pittsburgh! We went this past weekend and it was AWESOME! It's a pretty big deal here, and I can't believe it has taken us this long to finally experience the Strip!

We heard about it even before we moved here. Our good friend Issac lent us a few documentaries about Pittsburgh and one was titled 'The Strip Show.' I remember thinking "that looks like so much fun, that will have to be one of the first things we do when we get there!" Ha ha. Obviously that didn't happen, but oh well, at least we've been there now.

The Strip District is a long series of little stores. Wholesale markets, street vendors, restaurants and specialty shops. There's musicians playing instruments up and down the street. It's crowded and hot and a lot of fun! It is uniquely Pittsburgh. There is sooooo much to see that you could never see it all in one trip, so we'll be returning again, most definitely.

We found delectable authentic Mexican food - finally!!! It is pretty darn hard to come by in Pittsburgh. Oh, how we missed the taste of corn tortillas! We bought pastries too. Yum! And fresh corn on the cob. Am I making you hungry yet?

Here's some photos of our little Pittsburgh Adventure:

A Volkswagen Bug with a truck bed on it. We just thought it was funny. It really doesn't have anything to do with the Strip.

It was a pretty muggy day. Brinkley got very thirsty. But she was so good the whole time!

Here's Joshy holding our goodies.

This store was featured on the documentary we watched. It had a little bit of EVERYTHING! From party goods, to hats (as seen in the photo), to Steelers paraphernalia (but what store in Pittsburgh doesn't have that?!?)

Here's Brinks and me. She was really tired by this point. We were on our way outta there.

Because the main street of the strip is so crowded, we didn't dare stop and take pictures. However, we did get a shot of the back street. I think this is where all the nightclubs are held. You can see a little bit of downtown there in the background.
