Relief Society Yard and Bake Sale

On the 26th, our Relief Society had a Yard/Bake Sale.
We all cleaned out our basements and closets, brought our stuff to the church, displayed it all on tables and shopped like it was a thrift store! When you had got all the stuff you wanted, you then "bought" your stuff by donating money to the church Humanitarian Aid Fund. Our original idea was to send it specifically to Japan, but other disasters have happened since, so we weren't particular... we just donated.
We raised over $320.00!!
It was amazing! I was not expecting to raise that much, especially since we live in a ward full of poor students living on loan money. I was in awe at everyone's generosity.
It turned out to be a perfect night. Even though the power was out, and I was sweating like crazy.
All the leftover stuff was donated to Goodwill.
We cleaned out our houses, we got other people's good stuff, we donated money to a great cause, and we also donated stuff to another good cause.
It was a win-win-win-win.
Oh, and we ate delicious goodies from the bake sale.
win.
